Double-coated dogs, such as Huskies, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds, have two layers of fur—a dense, soft undercoat beneath a coarser outer coat. Deshedding is important for these breeds for a few reasons: Temperature Regulation: The undercoat helps regulate body temperature in both cold and warm weather. However, if it's not properly maintained, it can become matted and trap heat, leading to discomfort, especially in warmer climates.Preventing Matting: Without proper grooming, the undercoat can become tangled and matted. Mats can cause skin irritation, restrict movement, and even lead to skin infections if left unattended. Reducing Shedding: Regular deshedding can significantly reduce the amount of loose fur these breeds shed. Skin Health: Proper deshedding helps maintain skin health by removing dead hair and allowing air circulation, which reduces the risk of skin issues.

Please make sure your pet has had a restroom break and is easily accessible. For cats, close off rooms where they may hide, try to prevent cats from hiding under furniture and beds. It is best to put your feline family member into their carrier 15 minutes before our arrival for us to easily and calmly start their 15 Step Spa experience.

Please give us at least 48 hours notice of changes to your appointment. It is difficult to fill last-minute cancellations, which results in a complete loss of income for the groomer. A cancellation fee may be assessed if the appointment is canceled within 48 hours of your appointment.

If you need to make a change to your appointment please let us know prior to 48 hours by giving us a call or texting us. We prefer our pets stay on a recurring schedule for haircuts or de-shedding according to their coat type and length. This will keep them matt free and help their skin to breath without the excess shedding coat. Also, regular nail trimming prevents discomfort for your pet. We see most of our pets every 4-8 weeks. Imagine a human going that long between deep cleans. Also having your pet on a recurring appointment allows you to have your same stylist and assures an appointment prior to festive holidays. We have many pets on a latch key program, where after the parent meets and is comfortable with the groomer, the parent need not be home if the pet is accessible and a check is left for payment.

Aussie Pet Mobile cannot be held liable for skin, eye, or ear irritations that can occur due to shampoo sensitivity or underlying conditions. Our shampoos are high quality professional grade, PH Balanced, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic. Despite using care while trimming hair around the eyes, eye irritation can occur if a hair particle enters the eye. Pets may scratch at their eyes with their feet and create further irritation. We cannot be responsible for this type of self-inflicted injury. We clean ears with professional pet ear cleaner. This can reveal underlying ear infections, and we cannot be responsible for existing or emerging health issues. All products used are strictly for pets and are very gentle but not necessarily tearless. It is possible that your pet may experience eye irritations during the grooming process due to movement.

Aussie Pet Mobile does not express anal glands.  We believe this is a medical procedure that should be conducted under the supervision of a Veterinarian. According to modern research, many pets do not need this procedure done.  Aussie Pet Mobile believes the risk of injury is too high, especially for pets that do not need this procedure done and could cause long-term damage to the glands.

As with most personalized services, tipping is appropriate if you are happy with the services.

We do not administer tranquilizers to any pet for grooming purposes. However, if your pet is prescribed a sedative by their vet, you may administer that to your pet prior to the appointment.

If your pet has Fleas or Ticks please let us know. We recommend you contact your vet to obtain one of the newest flea prescription medications that are working well for this area. There will be a required flea bath and may be a decontamination fee in the event that the severity of the infestation requires the van being taken in for decontamination.

As a pet owner, you are responsible for ensuring that your pet is up to date on vaccinations. You assume all risks and consequences that may result if your pet is not fully vaccinated. We require that your pet be vaccinated against rabies and strongly recommend the following additional vaccinations: distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza adenovirus type 2, parvovirus, corona, leptospirosis, and Bordetella before scheduling a grooming appointment.

If your fur baby is matted, this a health crisis for him or her, the stylist will try to de-mat your fur baby if possible. If it not possible to de-mat our fur baby without undue stress or pain, your stylist will have to shave down your pet. There will be extra charges for matting that is significant.  We at AUSSIE PET MOBILE® want you to keep in mind that a matted coat can cause numerous health concerns including itching, irritation, and skin infections. Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles and skin folds trapped and hidden in the mats. AUSSIE PET MOBILE® will not be financially responsible for these types of injuries.

No, Aussie Pet Mobile is a personalized, 1-to-1 experience for your pet and the stylist. This allows for a much more calm and stressfree environment for your pet.

Aussie Pet Mobile loves all dogs and cats and has the expertise to service both fur babies!
