Spring Cleaning Your Pet Supplies
Spring cleaning is a great time to clean and organize all of your pet supplies! Here are some tips on getting your pet’s supplies in order.
- Start with decluttering. Go through all of your pet supplies including food, toys, beds, etc and see what needs to be thrown away. Check all dates on your pet’s food to ensure it is before the expiration date. Make a list of what needs to be replaced and plan a trip to grab some fresh supplies.
- Make a special space. Clean out a cabinet door or drawer or part of a closet. Use this space as a separate space that is only used for pet supplies. Keeping all supplies in one place will help to stay organized.
- Wash all supplies.
- Throw toys in the washer with a non-toxic, fragrance free detergent and tumble dry low.
- Take the cover off of your pet bed and throw in the wash. Hand wash spots out of the actual bed and use a vacuum attachment to vacuum the bed.
- Wash food and water bowls in the dishwasher.
- Hand wash all other supplies such as leashes, collars, harnesses, etc.
- Clean kennel with a non-toxic cleaner.
- Wash all blankets that your pet may sleep on with a non-toxic, fragrance free detergent and tumble dry low.
- Organize all pet papers. Use a folder to put all of your pet’s papers together, including vet visit papers and any other health information you want to include.
